Food (Pinterest) Junkie.

Pinterest has gained a lot of my time, by far. There are so many awesome ideas for recipes, crafts, home decor, childrens rooms, and so much more. It's quite neat how I can organize my favorite findings onto their boards with just a click of a mouse :).

We're the type of family that goes to the simple meals such as mac and cheese or a can of soup. I want to get out of that habit, explore new recipes, and learn to be better in the kitchen. Especially since Jaxen is making his debut into the world soon, it's important to me to put good food on the table (even though he will be an infant) and let him know early in life that his momma can cook! Oh, and it doesn't hurt for me to show Tyler that I'm not a complete disaster in the kitchen :). So I've put together some of my favorite recipe findings off Pinterest so far. I plan to try these within the next few weeks to come.

I will add the recipes and the source in my posts when blogging about these. Doesn't they look great? I can't wait to try them!

Ta-da! Looky what I made!

So check what I made! Thank you Pinterest! This was my first time doing this and I think it turned out quite well. This one isn't going in the nursery, but maybe another place in our house. I really like the red :). I'm going to make another with the chevron print sometime. This was way easy and cheap. I suggest anyone who is as obsessed with Pinterest like I am to go out and try to make their own stuff. It's really fun and great stress reliever. You're more creative than you think you are. :)

The Nursery: A work in progress

As most of you know, creating a loving nursery for a little one is a huge project! It's very time consuming, exciting, and probably stressful. (Note: I haven't experienced this for myself yet, just going off of what the rest of you say.) The only thing Tyler and I have started on in the nursery is brainstorming it. We have talked about our ideas and thrown some out. All in all, I don't really think we want a cheesy theme even though some are really adorable. I've been searching Pinterest hours and hours each day for inspiration and have found some incredibly awesome ideas! (I am seriously in love with that website) So after our ultrasound next week, all this inspiration will be put to work!

Wall colors? Ohhhhh the choices. I'm pretty sure this is the hardest choice for us to make. Mainly because we want it to be perfection :). And by perfection, we don't mean we are turning the nursery into a $10,000 wonderland. We live in reality and in our reality, we will make do with what we have and take into consideration preowned items. And for anyone who thinks it's just absurd to use preowned items for a baby nursery can just stop reading this blog right now. Because thirft stores? They're on my top friends list.

(Back to Pinterest) Did I mention I was in love with this website? Yes. Check out what I've found that would be awesome in our nursery so far.

Large cursive initial on the wall.

Simple wall art. I actually did this today as a trial run. I spray painted mine red and it's currently drying! I'll add the finished product to the blog tomorrow.

A photo wall. If we do one of these, it'll be for mommy and daddy to look at sweet pictures of their baby every time we enter the room.

I love this chair. Everything about it. The pattern, the colors, everything.

I like the hanging pom poms here. I think it adds a little something something :)

The bird and tree decal. Oh my goodness, how perfect!

And this cubicle book shelf. I would add the fabric drawers for easy hidable storage spaces. I also like how there would be open spaces for pictures and little misc. things.
