Thoughts on breastfeeding.

i was recently asked if i plan to breastfeed or formula feed my child once he/she is born. i've done a lot of research on breastfeeding vs. formula and i've definitely decided to go with breastfeeding. i've learned that breastfeeding will greatly benefit myself and baby.
for babies, breast milk provides tons and tons of nutrients and anitbodies to protect your little one, plus it's easy for them to digest. formula proteins are made from cow's milk and it take stime for babies stomachs to adjust to digesting them. so the easier the digesting, the happier baby is (and mama). i've also learned the antibodies in breast milk protect babies from illnesses such as asthma, obesity, and type 2 diabetes just to name a few.
your baby isn't the only one getting all these benefits. breastfeeding has many great benefits for mamas too! one of the number one factors (beside being rich in nutrients for baby) is that it will save our family money. have you seen the price of formula? it is crazy! breastfeeding your baby also lowers mothers health risks such as type 2 diabetes, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and postpartum depression.
so yes, i'm all for breastfeeding! i definitely want my little one to get all the nutrients and antibodies they can to help them live a longer, healthier lifestyle.

oh and by the way? i'm 17 weeks today!! eeeeek:). seems like time is flying by, ladies and gentlemen. our ultrasound is this month and we will be announcing the gender of our baby on thanksgiving. we have a pretty creative way of doing this and i can't be more excited!
